Stroke caregiver
Mike Garrow is a digital health product leader driven towards improving care pathways using modern processes, technology, and the human touch. He earned his MSc from Griffith College Dublin, and spent his early career in Ireland with a digital health consulting group, HealthXL before moving into a product role at a start-up servicing Ireland’s leading health insurer. Mike combined this work experience abroad with playing basketball at a semi-professional level for 6 years. Upon his return home to the US in May 2021, Mike joined CVS as a Digital Product Manager and is empowered to improve the healthcare experience for millions of patients.
Stroke care is something very near and dear to Mike’s heart. His mother had a stroke at 28, he was only 6 weeks old. Luckily, she is still with us, but this experience showed him how unexpected a stroke can happen, and how disconnected life after stroke can be for survivors. This experience drove him to pursue a career in healthcare and sparked a passion to bring change to the stroke continuum of care.
Outside of CVS, Mike is a co-host on the Know Stroke Podcast. The bi-weekly show has interviews with world renowned experts in stroke care and rehab technology. He also sits on the Board of Directors for StrokeOT, a Connecticut based non-for-profit that provides modified exercise classes and post stroke education to the community.
